The Bible teaches in Isaiah 42:8 that God does not give His glory to another or His praise to idols, asserting, "I am the LORD; that is my name". This passage highlights that divine honor is reserved solely for God. While God shares His glory with Jesus (John 17:22), the core message is that glory belongs to the Creator alone.


Key insights on "glory" in the Bible:
Exclusive Ownership: God states, "My glory I give to no other" (Isaiah 42:8, ESV).
Against Idolatry: This declaration is a warning against giving divine praise to man-made objects or idols.
Jesus' Glory: Jesus asks the Father to glorify Him, claiming a pre-existent, divine glory. (John 12:28)
Purpose: Glorifying God means acknowledging His worth, majesty, and greatness
