Living Sacrifice

 When we commit our lives to Jesus God promises to transform us—a lifetime project. Here are some verses that shed light on this process.


Romans 12:1,2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Living sacrifice—I will choose to do what You want day by day and not what I want.
Do not conform—do not believe the world’s values and priorities.
Transformed—let God change your priorities and values over time through prayer and Bible study. Learn what truth is.

Acts 3:19. Repent then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
Repent and turn—essential for salvation. You cannot just add Jesus on to whatever else is in your life.

Ephesians 4:24. and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Put on the new self—we choose to go in a new direction. God does not force us. Once we choose, God will help and guide us.
