Amenhotep II to King Tut (Tutankhamun) traces through a significant line of 18th Dynasty pharaohs: Amenhotep II's son, Thutmose IV, who was succeeded by his son Amenhotep III, then Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten), who introduced monotheism; after Akhenaten and a brief ruler, Tutankhamun, Akhenaten's young son, took the throne, reversing his father's religious reforms to restore traditional worship. 

Here's the direct line:

Amenhotep II (ruled c. 1427–1400 BCE). 

Thutmose IV (son of Amenhotep II, ruled c. 1400–1390 BCE). 

Amenhotep III (son of Thutmose IV, ruled c. 1390–1352 BCE), a prosperous pharaoh. 

Amenhotep IV / Akhenaten (son of Amenhotep III, ruled c. 1352–1336 BCE), who started the religious revolution centered on the god Aten. 

Tutankhamun (son of Akhenaten, ruled c. 1336–1327 BCE), who restored the old gods and traditions after his father's death. 

King Tut's reign marked the end of this direct line, as he died young and his rule was later erased from official records by his successors, inadvertently helping to preserve his tomb.
