Jesus is not Michael Arc Angel

Based on biblical theology, Jesus is considered the divine, uncreated Son of God, distinct from and superior to all angels, including Michael. Scripture presents Jesus as the Creator worthy of worship, whereas Michael is a created angelic being and servant. Therefore, equating Jesus with Michael is widely considered incorrect.

Key Arguments Against Identifying Jesus as Michael:
  • Hebrews 1:5-8 Distinction: The book of Hebrews explicitly contrasts the Son with angels, stating that God never said to any angel, "You are my Son," and commanding all angels to worship Jesus.
  • Nature of Being: Michael is an archangel (a created being), while Jesus is divine (the Creator, God the Son).
  • Authority in Scripture: In Jude 1:9, Michael does not rebuke Satan directly, but says, "The Lord rebuke you," whereas Jesus possesses direct authority over Satan.
  • Terminology: The Bible never explicitly states that Jesus and Michael are the same entity.
While some scholars have historically suggested a connection, the mainstream theological position is that they are separate, distinct beings.
