Jonathan Saul Death

 Jonathan, the son of King Saul, died during the 

Battle of Mount Gilboa against the Philistines.

  • When: He died on the same day as his father, King Saul, and his brothers (Abinadab and Malchishua).
  • Context: The battle was a major defeat for Israel, and after being surrounded, Jonathan was killed by the Philistines, while Saul committed suicide to avoid capture.
  • Aftermath: The Philistines found their bodies the next day, cut off their heads, and displayed them on the wall of Beth Shan before men from Jabesh-gilead recovered them.
