Prophet Samuel and Prophet Nathan

Based on biblical tradition and historical commentary, the prophet Nathan was a younger contemporary of the prophet Samuel, and 

it is highly likely they met or that Nathan was trained by him. 

• Mentorship/Relationship: According to tradition, Nathan studied in an elite academy of mystics under the guidance and tutelage of the prophet Samuel.
• Timeline: Samuel lived toward the end of the period of the Judges and anointed David, while Nathan was a court prophet during the reign of King David.
• Background: Nathan was born during the days of Samuel and likely grew up during a peaceful time in that prophetic tradition. 

While there is no explicit verse in the Bible stating, "Then Samuel met Nathan," the historical consensus is that Nathan was a successor or student of Samuel.
