 When people come to know Christ as their Savior, they are brought into a relationship with God that guarantees their relationship is eternally secure. Salvation is a sovereign act of God whereby an unregenerate sinner is washed, renewed, and born again by the Holy Spirit (John 3:3, Titus 3:5) Many passages of Scripture declare the fact, that as an act of God, salvation is secure.


Recall Scripture where Jesus said that not everyone who thinks he is a Christian will enter the kingdom. (Matthew 7:21-23) Only those who do the will of the Father will go to heaven. In other words, obedience is the defining act of salvation.
