Golden Rules

 Yes, the golden rule is a bit tricky, because others may not treat us well in return. Then what do we do? We look to Jesus and how he treated others.


1Peter 2:23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not, but committed himself to him that judges righteously

Jesus spoke truth, even harsh truth, but he never engaged in arguments or sheer name calling out of anger. Sometimes he remained silent. God will judge wrong doing, but it may not be immediately. It may be at judgment day. Why? He wants people to repent and be forgiven. We would like immediate punishment. We want to see those suckers pay for what they have done. It takes spiritual maturity to wait to let the Lord handle it. It also takes humility to acknowledge that we are sinners just like them and before accepting Jesus and being forgiven, we might have done the same thing.
