Search the Heart

 Psalm 139:3-4. Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.

1John 1:8. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Our original sin nature no longer controls a born again person who has the power to say no to sin. But although we have the power, sometimes we give in. Is this ok? No, but it happens. I certainly don’t support your dad. It seems to me that he thinks he is a Christian, but he is not. No punishment for your dad? His life is not over yet and there is some horrible stuff waiting for him. “You can’t go to heaven by doing whatever you want” is exactly my point.
