I wanted to go over the basics with you because I read that you worry about God sending you to hell.

As you know, God created the heavens and earth and everything in it. He wanted a relationship with man in order to guide them in the complex moral choices they would face, so he tested them with the tree in the garden. They failed the test, wanting to be in charge of their lives without God’s help. They were banished from the garden and the relationship was cut off.

God offered them a remedy that would atone for their sin. His Son would pay the penalty for sin and anyone who accepted this payment for themselves would be forgiven and accepted into God’s family. So here’s the deal he offered: accept God’s Son as your Savior and live with God forever or refuse his offer and go to hell. God technically doesn’t send people to hell; they send themselves to hell.

Once a person has made the decision to trust Christ, a line has been crossed; they join God’s family and the possibility of hell is off the table. If you have trusted Christ as Savior, then quit worrying about hell and start thinking about how you can please God by the way you live. He wants to provide for you and protect you and give your life meaning and purpose.
