Why named James the Great

 Saint James was named "the Great" (or "the Greater") simply to distinguish him from the other apostle named James (James the Lesser or James the Younger). The "Greater" title typically refers to him being older or taller than the other apostle, rather than implying he was more important.He is one of the most prominent figures in early Christianity for a few key reasons:The Inner Circle: He was the brother of John the Apostle and part of Jesus’s inner circle alongside Peter.
