Paul quoted Isaiah

Isaiah 45:23 is an Old Testament verse that is quoted and applied to Jesus Christ in two major New Testament passages.

The original Old Testament text of Isaiah 45:23 declares that before God every knee will bow and every tongue will swear.

New Testament References The Apostle Paul applies this divine declaration to Jesus Christ:

Romans 14:11: Paul cites the passage to emphasize accountability before God.

Philippians 2:10–11: Paul notes that every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to God's glory.
